3 day Sossusvlei Experience

What you can expect from this 3 day Sossusvlei Experience:

Your Sossusvlei Experience Tour takes you to Namibia’s famous Sossusvlei, a clay pan set amid monstrous piles of sand known as star dunes that that reach the height of a 60 storey skyscraper and rank amoung the highest sand dunes in the world. Observe the flora and fauna that inhabits this region. Climbing one of the dunes affords the energetic traveller an unforgettable experience of endless vistas across a sea of apricot-coloured sand.

Take your time to explore the impressive sandstone gorges of the Sesriem Canyon, with its rock pools fed by the Tsauchab, the same river that feeds Sossusvlei during the rainy season.

Days 1 & 2: Sesriem / Sossusvlei
This tour is a one of a kind experience where, upon departing Windhoek you will experience the ever-changing landscapes as you journey past the Naukluft Mountains in the great escapment  and into the pro-Namib. An early start is imperative, as this is not only the coolest part of the day but the best for photography.

Your journey takes you to the famous Sossusvlei, a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. The dunes in vicinity of the clay pan rise as high as 220m.They look even higher when their base rests on an elevated surface such as a river terrace. Indeed one of the0 that lies besides the Tsauchab dry river rises 325m above valley floor. Observe the fauna and flora that inhabits this region. 

Time will be taken to explore the impressive sandstone gorges of the Sesriem Canyon, with its rock pools fed by the Tsauchab, the same river that feeds Sossusvlei during the rainy season. To draw water from the pools, early travellers had to tie a bucket to six (ses) ox thongs (rieme) lashed together, hence the name, Sesriem.

Return to the lodge for lunch. During the afternoon join a guided nature / sunset drive to the Marble Mountains or relax at the lodge. You will stay at Namib Naukluft Lodge on Day 1: Dinner only. On Day 2, you will stay at Namib Desert Lodge: Breakfast, Lunch. Dinner.

Day 3: Return to Windhoek
After a leisurely breakfast you will return to Windhoek at approximately 12h30pm,  where your Namibia tour ends with a transfer to your hotel. Breakfast is included.

4 day Sossusvlei & Swakopmond Experience

What you can expect from this 4 day Sossusvlei, Swakopmond Excursion:

Southern Namibia spans two famous deserts- the Kalahari in the east and the Namib in the west with rugged mountain terrain. The Namib desert is part Hamada and part sandy. Stretching along the Namib Desert of Southern Africa, Namibia is a hauntingly beautiful country with wide open spaces, deserts, wildlife, big skies and friendly people. On this 4 day Namibia safari you will spend some of your days enjoying a swim or an afternoon snooze. You can also partake in late afternoon game drives. Some optional activities include scenic flights, tandem parachuting, quad biking and sand boarding You can game drive to camp and if time permits game drive for 2 hours before sunset.

Day 3: Beach Lodge Swakopmund, Namibia

Early morning departure from camp stopping at the one horse town of Solitaire before continuing through the desert with its endless views across the pastel-coloured gravel plains to the port town of Walvis Bay.

You get to visit the lagoon, which is a protected RAMSAR wetland site, where we may see the many species of birds including Greater and Lesser Flamingos, pelicans, avocets, plovers and the endemic Damara Tern, then a short trip to the nearby salt farm.

You continue onto the quaint town of Swakopmund, full of historic buildings and where your guide will assist those wishing to book optional adventure activities such as sand boarding, quad biking, scenic flights, parachuting, dolphin cruises to name but a few, which you have time for.

Overnight in comfortable twin / double rooms with en-suite bathroom close to the town centre. Laundry facilities are available here. This evening’s meal is a group dinner in a restaurant at client’s own expense. Breakfast and lunch.

Day 4: Windhoek, Namibia
After breakfast you have the morning at leisure, enjoy optional activities such as sand boarding or just explore the town and enjoy a coffee and cake in one of the many cafes or wander along the beach watching the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. After lunch your vehicle will return to Windhoek via the Okahandja craft markets. Breakfast and lunch.

6 day Canyons & Dune Tour

What can you expect from this 6 day Canyons & Desert tour:

View and take photos of the Kalahari Desert, the majestic Fish River Canyon and the world's highest sand dunes in the Namib Desert at Sossusvlei. Sossusvlei is a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world.

Day 1: Kalahari Region
Travel south through the rugged mountain ranges surrounding the capital. Your Namibia tour takes you to the vegetated red dunes of the Kalahari Desert which differs from the Namib. 

The dunes are greener and less stark, having the ability to support more fauna and flora. In the afternoon you will be able to partake in an optional sundowner drive and farm drive. Overnight at Kalahari Anib Lodge. Breakfast is included. 

Day 2: Fish River Canyon
A full day's journey takes you south through the desert-dominated landscapes to a picturesque Quiver Tree Forest near Keetmanshoop. This prehistoric tree reaches skyward with graphically forked branches, their trunks peel and form intricate patterns as the tree matures, these are rewarding subjects to photograph.

Giant’s Playground is an impressive jumble of massive boulders, a virtual maze where time can be spent wandering through the extensive rocky labyrinth. Enjoy an optional nature and sundowner drive. Overnight in Canon Village. Breakfast is included.

Day 3: Luderitz
You start the day with a short visit to the Fish River Canyon, from here you will proceed to the small historic village of Aus and travel through the vast barren expanse to Luderitz situated on the southern Atlantic coast.

The town serves as a good base from which to view colonies of aquatic birds, seals and penguins. An excursion will be undertaken to view Diaz Cross. Overnight at Hotel Zum Sperrgebiet. Breakfast is included.

Day 4: Central Namib Desert
Travel to the famous ghost town of Kolmanskop during your Namibia tour. In 1908 a railway worker found a sparkling stone amongst the sand he was shovelling away from the railway line. 

This resulted in a Diamond Rush, as it soon became a bustling little centre with all the amenities of a European town. Within a span of 50 years, Kolmanskop had lived, flourished and died! Heading inland you will proceed via the pro-Namib to your overnight establishment, Hammerstein Lodge. Breakfast is included.

Day 5: Sesriem / Sossusvlei
An early start is important, as this is not only the coolest part of the day but it's the best for photography. Your journey takes you to the famous Sossusvlei, a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world.

7 day  Sahara South Tour

What you can expect from this 7 day South Safari Tour:

On this Namibia safari tour you will drive from the beautiful town of Windhoek, visiting the oldest Karakul weavery of Namibia in Dordabis. In Keetmanshoop you will be able to see the famous Kokerboom (quiver tree).

A visit to the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world is a definite must. You will also get the opportunity to explore and learn about the town of Luderitz. Accommodation for this tour will be in both lodges, rest camps and hotels.

Day 1: Windhoek, Namibia
You will drive from Windhoek via Dordabis (you will visit the oldest Karakul weavery of Namibia), Uhlenhorst and Stampriet to the Auob Lodge  where you will spend the night of day 1. Dinner. Breakfast.

Day 2: Keetmanshoop, Namibia
Drive along the Auob River, via Koes and visit to the Kokerboom (quivertree) to Keetmanshoop. Proceed past the Naute Dam to the Canon Lodge. Overnight at Canon Lodge. Dinner. Breakfast.

Day 3: Fish River Canyon, Namibia
Visit the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon of the world during this Namibia safari tour. This gigantic ravine, in places almost 500 metres (1640 feet) deep, has been gorged out of vast undulating plain in the course of thousands of years.

Proceed to Lüderitz via Seeheim and Aus. This drive takes you through intriguing Moon Landscape of endless desert vistas and bizarre rock formations. Overnight at Nest Hotel. Breakfast.

Day 4: Luderitz, Namibia
The day is spent in Lüderitz. The first German settlement in Namibia, named after the merchant Adolf Lüderitz from Bremen, who bought this area from the Hottentots in 1883. This small harbour town is perched on rugged black rock, offset by the deep blue waters of the bay, and is surrounded by bays, coves and fjords.

During the morning visit to the 'ghost town' of Kolmanskop where diamonds were first discovered in Namibia. Afterwards sightseeing in and around Lüderitz. Overnight at Nest Hotel. Breakfast.

Day 5: Aus, Namibia
Drive back through the restricted diamond area to Aus and the scenic Neisip Plain during this Namibia safari tour. Overnight at Hammerstein Lodge. Dinner. Breakfast.

Day 6: Sossusvlei, Namibia
In the early morning depart to an excursion to the Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, a large clay pan in the centre of the Namib Desert, surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world. In the late afternoon take part in a spectacular dune drive including a sundowner on top of the dunes. Overnight at Namib Desert Lodge. Dinner. Breakfast.

Day 7: Windhoek, Namibia
Drive via Reemhoogte Pass and Rehoboth to the Oanob Dam. You will return to Windhoek. Arrival in the late afternoon.

What can you expect from this 7 day Victoria Falls / Caprivi / Windhoek tour:
Guests on this 7 day Namibia safari tour will be able to embark on game viewing drives in the Bwabwata National Park. Almost every afternoon you will go on a sundowner boat cruise on the respective rivers. A visit to the Popa Falls is a definite must. A minimum 4 persons and a maximum 14 persons is required for this trip. Accommodation is in comfortable lodges and guestfarms.

Day 1: Victoria Falls, Zambia
You will drive from Victoria Falls to Kasane during this Namibia safari tour. Boat transfer to Kasika Island. In the late afternoon you will embark on a sundowner boat trip on the Chobe. Overnight at the King's Den Lodge. Breakfast. Dinner.

Day 2: Namushasha Lodge, Namibia
Travel via Ngoma Bridge and Kongola to Namushasha Lodge. In the afternoon you will go on a boat trip on the Kwando River. Overnight at Namushasha Lodge. Breakfast. Dinner.

Day 3: Bwabwata National Park, Caprivi, Namibia
In the morning you will go on a game viewing drive in the Bwabwata National Park. In the afternoon you will again go on a boat trip on the Kwando River. Overnight at Namushasha Lodge. Breakfast. Dinner.

Day 4: Mahango Game Reserve, Namibia
Continue via Kongola and Bagani to the Mahangu Safari Lodge. In the afternoon visit the Mahango Game Reserve. You will overnight at Mahangu Safari Lodge. Breakfast. Dinner.

Day 5: Okavango River, Namibia
Visit the Popa Falls and proceed to Rundu. In the late afternoon you will embark on a boat trip on the Okavango River (water level dependent). Overnight at Hakusembe River Lodge. Breakfast. Dinner.

Day 6: Kombat, Namibia
Drive via Rundu and Grootfontein to Kombat. Visit the Hoba Meteorite and proceed to Ghaub Guestfarm. In the late afternoon enjoy a sundowner drive on the farm. Dinner, bed and breakfast at Ghaub Guestfarm.

Day 7: Windhoek, Namibia
Travel via Otavi and Otjiwarongo to Okahandja during this Namibia safari tour. Visit the woodcarvers' market. Afterwards proceed to Windhoek. You will arrive in the afternoon.
